Welcome to the Atlantic City Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. We service the Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland
and southern Ocean Counties. The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a non-profit youth program for Americans ages 11 through 17.
Atlantic City Division was commissioned in 1995. Our mission is to educate, motivate and empower the future leaders of
OUr next drill will be conducted on October 12 and 13. We will be conducting our first PRT test under the new regulations
at the running track in Brigantine on Saturday, October 12. A letter has gone out to parents regarding this event. Please
be sure that your parents read this email. This is a semi-annual event. We will be paying attention to proper form. You
can find video for the curl-ups at the following link: here. The video
for the push-ups is found here. You can find the entire PRT policy at
homeport under the "policy" tab.
Be sure you start working on your PRT now, not the day before. Be sure to get a good night's sleep, have a good breakfast,
and have enough water to drink so you don't get dehydrated. We will report to the running track on Brigantine at 0800
(please don't arrive early) and go the Station after the PRT. Wear your regulation PT shirts and shorts, white athletic
socks, and athletic shoes. Wear sunscreen and bug repellent. Bring a bottle of water as well.
PO1 Donahue is collecting items for his Support Our Troops Club. All items will be sent to a deployed SEAL unit and a Navy
destroyer. You can find the shopping list here
We will continue with your training "debriefs". It's always interesting to hear about what each one of you did for summer
training. And it will give everyone an idea of what they can hope to do next year. If you haven't turned in your written
report, this is the month to do so.
We will end our day on Sunday with a trip to Lone Wolf Gaming. This is a really fun time, and those who attended in August
really enjoyed it. Plan to attend! Be sure to fill out the release form. The link is on the "schedule page". There will
be a $15 fee for this event. The Division will cover the rest of the cost.
October is a great month to bring in new recruits. If you have a friend or relative who might be interested in joining,
please bring them along to drill. You can earn a ribbon, and maybe even a free training for each new recruit who signs
up that you bring in. However, we cannot have visitors at events away from the Station.
If you haven't already, check out the latest Sea Cadet Quarterly (now renamed the Seafarer)
here. Sgt Henriques wrote an article about
our packages that we sent to Somalia. Take a look. We are on page 21.
Check out our Facebook page ATLANTIC CITY DIVISION, USNSCC.
We have a new logo and new cover photo. Unit updates, information, photos, and videos will be posted here.
